Joint Investigation Leads to Two Arrests in Multiple Armed Robberies
December 02, 2020
Since October, The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to and conducted follow-up investigations related to several armed robberies at various locations within the City and County limits. Investigators recently determined the incidents were related and the agencies worked together to identify the two suspects responsible for the criminal acts. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, the suspects were apprehended on Dec. 1. Search warrants were subsequently served at the residences of both suspects and multiple items of evidence were recovered, including a handgun.
The suspects have been charged with armed robberies that occurred at:
- Citgo Gas Station, located at 5711 Blountstown Highway
- Fast Lane Mart, located at 3497 N. Monroe Street
- Marathon Gas Station, located at 2036 S. Adams Street
- Tally Smoke & Vape, located at 679 W. Tennessee Street
- Beer City, located at 471 John Knox Road
- Express Lane, located at 3417 Fred George Road
These arrests are a great example of interagency cooperation between TPD, LCSO, the United States Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Arrested:
- Zion Hosten, 17, for armed robbery.
- Marcus Wiley, 22, for armed robbery.
