CRA Seeks Feedback on GFS Strategic Investment Plan
January 07, 2021
To further focus efforts and meet the community's stated priorities for the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Greater Frenchtown/Southside (GFS) District, the CRA updated and is seeking feedback on the proposed GFS Strategic Investment Plan.
The Strategic Investment Plan, which was prepared through community input and reviewed by the GFS District Citizens' Advisory Committee, provides a path toward meeting the district priorities. The priority areas addressed in the proposed investment plan are Economic Development, Impact on Poverty, Public Safety, Quality of Life, Public Infrastructure, Public Trust and Organizational Effectiveness. The proposed CRA GFS Strategic Investment Plan can be read on the CRA website.
After reviewing the proposed investment plan, residents, property owners and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback via the open-ended questionnaire that is available on the webpage. Feedback can also be provided by emailing cra@talgov.com or calling (850) 891-8357. Feedback will be accepted through Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.
The proposed GFS Strategic Investment Plan is a complementary document to the GFS Redevelopment Plan. The CRA worked with residents over the course of several years to update the redevelopment plan. It broadly outlines the community's priorities identified from previous public meetings and is the governing document which guides how CRA funds can be used. Read the GFS Redevelopment Plan at Talgov.com/CRA.
The draft GFS Strategic Investment Plan, GFS Redevelopment Plan and associated community feedback will be presented to the CRA Board at its meeting on Jan. 28. Both GFS plans may be updated at least every five years.
Through the City of Tallahassee's Neighborhood Affairs Division, in partnership the Frenchtown neighborhood, a separate effort is also currently underway to move Frenchtown forward. Interested residents and stakeholders are encouraged to learn more and provide feedback about the Frenchtown Neighborhood First Plan at Talgov.com/Frenchtown.
