TPD's Citizen Advisory Council Invites Community to Town Hall Meeting
September 23, 2021
The Tallahassee Police Department's Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) is pleased to announce its inaugural Town Hall meeting. This meeting will be an opportunity for the community to learn more about what the CAC does and how residents can help the CAC carry out its mission.
"Part of our goal is to bridge the gap between police the community," CAC Chairman Rudy Ferguson said. "We want to make sure when we speak as representatives of the community, we are aware of the community's wishes. The only way to truly make a difference is to listen and learn, and that's what we aim to do through these Town Hall meetings."
The meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at Walker-Ford Community Center, located at 2301 Pasco Street.
The Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) was established in 2020 and is part of a holistic effort to expand transparency and strengthen community bonds between residents and officers. The CAC is comprised of residents from all areas of Tallahassee. It serves as a conduit between the police department and the community to keep the channels of communication open.
CDC guidelines will be followed. Masks are encouraged, and social distancing will be in place.
