Applications Open for Participation in MLK Day Commemoration Events
Inaugural MLK Day Parade To Be Held Jan. 17

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to the pursuit of social justice and equality. To honor his life and legacy, the City of Tallahassee will host a day-long celebration on Jan. 17, 2022. Events will include the NAACP March to the Capitol, Day of Dialogue, MLK Day Festival and inaugural MLK Day Parade. The parade will take place along North Monroe Street.
The City of Tallahassee is now accepting applications to participate in the day's events. Organizations interested can apply as a parade participant, live entertainment or vendor at Talgov.com/MLKParade by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5. There is no fee to participate in the parade. The schedule of events is available at Talgov.com/MLKParade and additional details, including associated road closure information, will be available as the parade draws nearer.
