Virtual Community Meeting to be Held for Proposed PUD Amendment
January 06, 2022
The City of Tallahassee will hold a virtual community meeting on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 5:30 p.m. regarding proposed planning amendments requested by the owner of the English Property.
At the virtual meeting, City staff with Planning, Growth Management and Neighborhood Affairs will provide information and answer questions about what the proposed amendments mean, the parcel’s current zoning and more.
The amendment requested by the applicant would increase the acreage of the existing Planned Unit Development (PUD) by 494 acres, for a total of 744 acres. This proposed amendment would also update other planning elements, including the General Land Use Plan and Vehicular Circulation Plan, within the property. The subject PUD straddles Blair Stone Road and is located generally south of Orange Avenue East, north of Tram Road, east of Rickards High School and west of Capital Circle SE.
The proposed amendment was reviewed by the Planning Commission at its Oct. 5, 2021, meeting. The Planning Commission voted 5-0 to find the application consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and to recommend approval by the Tallahassee City Commission. Public hearings for the ordinance that would officially adopt the proposed amendments were held before the City Commission on Nov. 10 and Dec. 8, 2021. The next public hearing on the ordinance is anticipated to be held on Feb. 16.
