City Commission to hold Budget Workshop on May 18

The Tallahassee City Commission will hold a budget workshop on Wednesday, May 18, at 1 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers, second floor, City Hall, 300 S. Adams Street.
The agenda and details about how to share public comment are available at Talgov.com/CitizenInput.
The workshop will focus on the Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) Budget Update. The budget update serves to increase transparency and community involvement in the budget process, while providing dedicated time for City Commission discussion. The workshop will also include the FY23-27 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) update and a FY22 second quarter budget update.
Information about the City's financials is always available through OpenGov and the City's online budget, both accessible through Talgov.com.
The City continues to be committed to frequent, open and transparent communication with the community regarding the status of the current budget and development of the FY23 budget, offering ample opportunities for public input. The next steps for budget meetings are as follows:
- June 1 - Preliminary taxable property valuation
- June 8 - Third City Commission budget workshop
- July 1 - Certified taxable property values
- July 13 - FY22 third quarter update, proposed FY23 budget and approval of tentative millage
- September 7 - City Commission meeting for the first FY23 budget hearing
- September 21 - City Commission meeting for the final FY23 budget hearing
