TFD Extinguishes Residential Structure Fire on Dozier Drive

On March 31 at 11:36 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire located in the 2400 block of Dozier Drive. TFD arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a single-story residential structure.
Initial reports indicated there were possible occupants inside the home. TFD crews quickly made entry into the home to extinguish the fire and search for occupants. The fire was found in the kitchen area, and it was quickly knocked down. TFD crews searched the home, and it was determined that nobody was inside the structure at the time of the fire. TFD personnel did find one dog deceased in the home. There were no other reported injuries on scene.
The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, City of Tallahassee Utilities, Leon County EMS and the City of Tallahassee Animal Control.
