Tallahassee Police Make Arrest in Homicide Case

Today, May 19, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested one suspect in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred just before 7 p.m. on May 18.
Following a swift and thorough investigation by TPD's Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined the victim, an adult male, was sitting in his vehicle on Kux Avenue when the arrestee, Walter Massey, shot him. The victim began driving himself to a local hospital before crashing near the intersection of Midyette Road and Capital Circle Southeast. When officers arrived to render aid, the victim informed them Massey shot him. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Detectives responded to Massey's residence and executed a search warrant. The subsequent investigation collected physical evidence that helped detectives determine the shooting occurred from a drug transaction on Kux Avenue and developed probable cause for an arrest. Massey was taken into custody at his residence without incident.
