City Service Changes for Memorial Day Holiday

The City of Tallahassee's administrative offices will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27. Following are service schedule changes for the week of May 26 to June 1 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits (red week), StarMetro, Tallahassee Animal Services and City-run community centers.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
During the holiday week, all residential customers will receive garbage and recycling service one day later than regularly scheduled. Red week customers (yard debris and bulky items) are also affected by this holiday. Below are the schedule changes for garbage and recycling collection:
- Monday customers ► Tuesday, May 28
- Tuesday customers ► Wednesday, May 29
- Wednesday customers ► Thursday, May 30
- Thursday customers ► Friday, May 31
- Friday customers ► Saturday, June 1
Garbage and recycling containers should both be rolled behind the curb the night before the service day, with both containers returned to the home no later than the day after collection.

Storm Debris Collection
Storm debris collection is ongoing and not affected by the holiday schedule. All storm-related debris should be placed at the curb as soon as possible. Learn more about storm debris collection at Talgov.com/News.
StarMetro Routes
StarMetro, the City's mass transit system, will operate on a Sunday schedule with no night service for the holiday on Monday, May 27. Dial-A-Ride will operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Call Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Appleyard Front Desk will be closed. Animal Services
The Animal Service Center will be closed on Monday, May 27. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28, with the center opening at 10 a.m. for appointments only. Customers needing more information, including photos of animals available for adoption and to report lost and found pets, may visit Talgov.com/Animals.
City Animal Control will be available for emergency situations only on Monday, May 27, and can be reached via the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at 850-606-5800.
City-run Community Centers
Community centers operated by the City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department will be closed Monday, May 27. Centers will resume normal hours on Tuesday, May 28.
