Sounds of the Season to Fill Cascades Park
Enjoy a Holiday Stroll this Saturday
December 06, 2017
In the beloved holiday movie Elf, Buddy the Elf said it best, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” This Saturday, Dec. 9, you can sing aloud, or simply listen, to merry melodies as they fill the air of Cascades Park from 6 – 8 p.m. at the 4th annual Holiday Stroll.
Hitting happy notes, over a dozen different ensembles will showcase their musical talents throughout the winding trails of Cascades Park, including the Smokey Hollow Commemoration. The musical stylings include carolers, choruses, instrumentals, acapella groups, dance groups and more! Below is the complete line up of performers:
- Angie Sullivan and the WINGS Youth Choir
- Big Bend Community Orchestra
- Bach Parley String Academy
- Hot Tamale Acoustic Duo
- Jacob Chapel Baptist Church Choir
- Keyboardist Josh Cossette
- String performer Melissa Carlson
- Rolling Tones Barbershop Quartet
- Sister Strings, featuring violin, cello and guitar
- Take Two Flute and Guitar Duo
- Temple Israel’s Bagels & Biscuits, Bo’u Nasir and Shiru Shir Band and Choir
- Dance Performances by Excellence Dance Studio, Trousdell Gymnastics Center, Tallahassee Community College (TCC) Dance Company, Capital Celtic Dancers and TADA Irish Dancers
As you stroll through the park letting the sounds of the season warm your spirit, treat yourself to sugary delights from Lucy & Leo’s Cupcakery and warm your hands with free hot cocoa. After you've gathered your tasty treats, grab a seat near Imagination Fountain as the water dances to the sounds and lights of the evening show that plays every fifteen minutes during the event.
Back by popular demand, get an up-close view of some of the awe-inspiring entries of the annual Winter Festival parade. A select number of parade entries will be on display, giving guests a larger than life view of these majestic displays on wheels.
