Weekend Work on Centerville Road at Medical Drive
City Crews to Connect Gas Main to New Generators
February 14, 2018
The City of Tallahassee’s Gas Utility is currently working near Medical Drive and Centerville Road to connect a natural gas main to the two new generators that were recently delivered to Substation 12. Once fully operational this summer, these two 310,000 pound generators will provide backup power to the medical corridor and surrounding area.
To minimize impacts to traffic, crews will be completing work at the intersection of Centerville Road and Medical Drive over the next two weekends. The first weekend closure will be from 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, until noon on Sunday, Feb. 18. The second weekend closure will be from 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. Detour routes will be clearly posted, which include directing southbound traffic on Centerville Road to Physicians Drive and northbound traffic on Centerville Road to Hodges Drive.
