Trap Setter Arrested for Sexual Battery

On May 24, 2018, the Tallahassee Police Department was notified of a sexual battery. Believing the suspect was a female, the victim went to the suspect's residence. While at the residence the suspect served the victim several alcoholic beverages, believed to contain narcotics, and sexually battered the victim.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Derrick Deshawn Baker. With this information TPD's Special Victims Unit obtained a search warrant for Mr. Baker's residence and recovered items from the sexual battery and several reported burglaries. Mr. Baker was charged with two counts of Sexual Battery and warrants for additional offenses are actively being sought.
TPD is investigating other instances of Mr. Baker's involvement in reported sexual batteries, as well as reports of burglaries where a male, dressed as a female, burglarized homes and battered male victims. Mr. Baker is also known to dress as a female and approach intoxicated males, seeking sexual activity.
This is an ongoing investigation and TPD will provide updates when they become available.

For further details, the probable cause affidavit is attached to this release and has been redacted in accordance with Florida Statute 119.

- Two Counts of Sexual Assault Sexual Battery on 12 Years of Age or Older with Special Conditions pursuant to Florida Statute 794.011 4D.
