Team Up for Fall Adult Sports
Registration Open for Softball and Flag Football; Officials/Umpires Needed
July 19, 2018
Regular physical activity is great for your overall health and happiness, especially when it's social, too. Get active this fall by participating in the City of Tallahassee's adult softball and flag football programs. Registration is open.
The adult softball program offers the following league options: Men, Men's Church, Senior (players must be over the age of 50), Women and Coed. There must be a minimum of four teams registered to make a league. Games take place on weekday evenings and begin the week of September 3. Games will be played at the Tom Brown Park Softball Complex. The fee per team for 10 games (one per week) is $385. Registration for softball closes on Friday, August 10. Teams wanting to register after August 10 will be placed on a wait list, and if space is available, teams will pay a $10 late fee. The last day late registration will be accepted for adult softball is Friday, August 17.
Trying to get on a team but don't know where to turn? From 10 a.m. to noon on August 4, August 18 and September 1 at Tom Brown Park, the City will host a player meet-and-greet. Managers of existing teams will be present to recruit new players, and players are welcome to form brand new teams of their own. Bring your glove, bat and ball to join in the fun and showcase your skills. No experience is required; all skill levels are welcome.
Additionally, there will be a meeting for all team managers at Tom Brown Park on Tuesday, August 14, at 6 p.m. At the meeting, City staff will review league rules and answer questions.
The adult flag football program offers the following league options: Men, Women and Coed. At least four teams must register to form a league. Games are played once a week on weekday evenings at the Messer South complex. Games start the week of September 10. The fee per team for 10 games (one per week) is $520. Registration for flag football closes on Thursday, August 16. Teams wanting to register after August 16 will be placed on a wait list, and if space is available, teams will pay a $10 late fee. The last day late registration will be accepted for flag football is Friday, August 24.
