The Village Square to Host 9th Annual Tallahassee Town Hall
in partnership with Leadership Tallahassee, Tallahassee Democrat and WFSU Public Media
April 05, 2021
(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – April 5, 2021 – Much like communities across the globe, this last year has been a
tumultuous one here in Tallahassee. But unlike most other hometowns, we come together every year to
talk about the hometown we share — and what matters most to our families and our future. On Monday,
April 12 at 7 p.m. — in the tradition of the old-fashioned American town hall meeting — citizens will have
an opportunity to gather digitally with both Leon County and City of Tallahassee Commissioners for the 9th
Annual Tallahassee Town Hall, via Zoom and Facebook Live.
Moderated by the Tallahassee Democrat's former publisher Skip Foster, the event program pairs
commissioners from both the city and the county for a cross-governmental discussion about where
Tallahassee is as a community, where we're going, and what challenges we face in getting there. Scheduled
to join the conversation from Leon County are Chair Rick Minor, and Commissioners Carolyn Cummings,
Kristin Dozier, Jimbo Jackson, Nick Maddox and Brian Welch; and from the City of Tallahassee are Mayor
John Dailey and Commissioners Jeremy Matlow, Jack Porter, Curtis Richardson, and Dianne Williams-Cox.
The Town Hall program is a continuation of an ongoing series of unique locally-focused forums sponsored
by The Village Square, a nonprofit devoted to bridging divides through discussion and spirited
disagreement. It is offered in partnership with the Tallahassee Democrat, WFSU Public Media and
Leadership Tallahassee, a program of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
The Tallahassee Town Hall will be streamed live on Zoom from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Monday, April 12. Due to
the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no in-studio audience for this event and limited media
access. Digital viewing is free and open to the public, but advance reservation online is requested. For
more information or to reserve your space online, go online to tlh.villagesquare.us.
