TPD Investigates Death on Killarney Way (Update)

TPD has arrested Nikoleta Koikos in connection with the death investigation near the intersection of Killarney Drive & Foley Drive. On January 12, 2019 TPD responded to the area reference a deceased person lying in the roadway. Investigators discovered that the victim was struck by a vehicle, which was still on scene along with the driver. After consultation with the State Attorney’s Office, Traffic Homicide investigators were able to develop probable cause to charge Koikos with Vehicular Homicide and Driving Under the Influence. On April 8, 2019 Koikos turned herself in to the Leon County Detention Facility.

TPD Investigates Death on Killearney Way (Update), January 14, 2019, 4:54 p.m.
After further investigation it was determined that this isolated incident was a result of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. There is no immediate threat to the public and TPD is aware of all parties that were involved.
This is still an active investigation and Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing to process evidence collected from the crash scene. They are urging anyone who may have information about the crash to please contact them at (850) 891-4200 or via Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS. TPD will continue to provide updates when they are available.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a death near Killarney Way & Foley Dr. Investigators have been called to the scene and have assumed the investigation. All west bound traffic on Killarney Way from Shamrock Street to Foley Drive is blocked at this time. Motorist are urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
TPD is asking anyone who did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the incident to please call (850) 891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
