TPD Investigates Shooting Near Charlotte Street (update)

The Tallahassee Police Department is providing an update to the initial report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Charlotte Street. TPD officers responded to a call regarding a person who had been shot. After being transported to the hospital by ambulance, doctors determined the serious injury was not related to a gunshot. Violent Crimes Unit investigators established the incident was an armed robbery but after interviewing witnesses and processing the evidence, there was nothing to indicate gunshots were fired during the crime.
The incident continues to be actively investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS. Updates will be provided by TPD as they become available.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting near the 1300 block of Charlotte Street. At approximately 3:05 p.m., officers were notified of the shooting incident and responded to the area. Arriving officers and emergency personnel discovered that one victim was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The case has been assigned to investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. At this time they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS. This is currently an active investigation and TPD will provide updates when they are available.
