TPD Arrests West Brevard Street Shooter and Hit and Run Suspects

At approximately 3:05 p.m. TPD responded to 519 W. Brevard St., reference a physical altercation with one subject armed with a gun. During the altercation Jontavius Monroe began shooting at several subjects prior to fleeing the area in a white Nissan driven by Dianna Ellis. That vehicle was chased by a silver Dodge Ram truck driven by Theodore Chaires, who was also involved in the physical altercation. The Dodge Ram struck a vehicle at the intersection of Macomb and Georgia Street as it continued chasing the Nissan. The white Nissan also struck a vehicle at the intersection of White Drive and West Tennessee Street, causing nonlife-threatening injuries to that driver and fled the scene. Responding officers were able to make contact with all three arrestees at the intersection of Appleyard Drive and Leonard Gray Way.
Dianna Ellis and Theodore Chaires were both charged with Hit and Run. Jontavius Monroe was charged with Possession of a Firearm by Florida Convicted Felon, Discharging a Firearm in Public, Grand Theft of a Firearm and Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams. All three arrestees were transported to the Leon County Detention Faciality for booking.
