Additional Suspect Arrested for Home Invasion on Wabash Trail
On May 14, 2019 at approximately 3:37am TPD responded to a Home Invasion near the 2300 block of Wabash Trail. Investigators arrested Jaylin Baldwin, for Possession of a Firearm by a Florida Delinquent after recovering his firearm during a search warrant. Baldwin would later bond out of the Leon County Detention Facility.
On August 20, 2019, Investigators learned that Baldwin’s firearm was used during the Home Invasion. After consultation with the State Attorney’s Office probable cause was found to arrest Jaylin Baldwin for the below charges. On September 2, 2019 Baldwin was taken into custody by TPD’s Career Criminal Unit and transported to the Leon County Detention Center.

Another Arrest Made in Home Invasion on Wabash Trail
TPD has arrested Jah’lil Butts in connection to the Home Invasion that occurred on Wabash Trail. On May 15, 2019 at 4:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital in reference to a patient arriving with a gunshot wound. The patient was later identified as Jah’lil Butts.
After collecting various pieces of evidence and consultation with the State Attorney’s Office, probable cause was found to arrest Jah’lil Butts. Butts was taken into custody and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility after his release from a local hospital.
TPD will provide more information when it becomes available.

Update - May 17, 2019
Arrests made for Home Invasion
TPD has arrested Amarion Meeks, and Tyree Tillman in connection to the Home Invasion that occurred on Wabash Trail. The investigation revealed that the victim’s vehicle was reported stolen and recovered days prior, with the victim’s handgun and keys to his home still missing. On May 15, 2019 around 3:37 am the suspects used the victim’s key that was stolen two days prior, to enter the residence. Upon seeing the armed suspects in the kitchen, the victim was in fear for their life as well as others inside the residence. The victim retrieved their personally owed semi-automatic rifle and fired several rounds at the suspects. The suspects began to fire at the victim while running out the residence, leaving behind clothing, jewelry and a stolen handgun (not belonging to the victim) on scene. The suspects were last seen fleeing in a stolen Toyota Camry.
At approximately 4:30am Officers received another call for service in reference to subject suffering from a gunshot wound near the 3000 block of South Adams Street. That patient was identified as Amarion Meeks and was also taken to a local hospital.
Later that same morning Officers recovered the stolen vehicle near Tyree Tillman’s residence. Inside the vehicle officers found blood and fired spent shell casings matching those found at the original crime scene. A search of Tillman’s residence revealed property from other recent burglaries, along with ammunition, 2 handguns, with 1 determined to be stolen. Probable cause was found to arrest another resident Jaylin Baldwin for Possession of a Firearm by Florida Delinquent.
After collecting various pieces of evidence and consultation with the State Attorney’s Office, probable cause was found to arrest Amarion Meeks, and Tyree Tillman. Meeks was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center upon release from a local hospital. Tillman was taken into custody by the Career Criminal Unit and transported to the Leon County Detention Center.
This is still an active investigation. TPD will provide more information when it becomes available.

At approximately 3:37 a.m. TPD responded to a shooting near the 2300 block of Wabash Trail. Arriving officers learned that armed suspects had entered home and the victim had fired several shots at the suspects before they fled from residence.
