TPD Investigates Crash on Pensacola Street

At approximately 3:16pm, TPD responded to a crash near the intersection of Pensacola Street and Cactus Street involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The initial call was classified as a hit and run, however upon further investigation, all parties involved remained on scene.
The east bound lane on Pensacola Street is no longer closed and can resume normal traffic flow conditions.

TPD is investigating a hit and run traffic crash near the intersection of Pensacola Street and Cactus Street. At approximately 3:16pm, TPD responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Emergency responders immediately provided medical attention to the pedestrian, who was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Traffic Homicide Investigators have been called to the scene and have assumed the investigation. The east bound lane on Pensacola Street between Cactus Street and Dupree Street are closed at this time. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the accident to please call (850) 891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
