UPDATED - Officer Involved Shooting

The deceased suspect in this case has been identified as Natosha “Tony” McDade, 38.
This case is currently still an open, active investigation and there are no more details to release at this time.
Original Release
The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating an officer involved shooting in the 2500 block of Holton Street.
At 10:45am, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Saxon Street in reference to a stabbing which had just occurred. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot, and a description of the suspect was provided to responding officers who were arriving in the area. A short time later, an officer observed a person matching the description of the suspect in the 2500 block of Holton Street. As soon as the officer attempted to get out with the suspect, they observed the suspect was armed with a handgun.
The suspect then made a move consistent with using the firearm against the officer, who fired their issued handgun, fatally striking the adult female suspect.
The officer was not injured in the confrontation.
This incident is currently still under investigation and there are no more details to release at this time.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit have been called to the scene and have assumed the investigation. TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident but did not speak with an officer or investigator on scene, or anyone with information about the incident to please call 850-891-4200 and ask to speak with the Violent Crimes Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
Per standard protocol, the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.
The adult male victim of the stabbing passed away from his injuries.
