Tip Leads to Seizure of Firearm and Narcotics

Around 7:30 p.m. on July 28, members of the Tallahassee Police Department’s Special Investigations Section were acting on a tip about narcotics activity in the 600 block of West Saint Augustine Street.
Investigators observed a vehicle pull into the parking lot of an apartment complex at 615 West Saint Augustine Street and park. A short time later, an individual, later identified as arrestee Gabre Brown, approached the driver’s side of the car and spoke to the driver. Almost immediately, Brown displayed a handgun to the driver and then placed it in his waistband.
Fearing a robbery was about to occur, investigators confronted Brown and took him into custody without incident.
Brown was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, display of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a Florida delinquent, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Due to prior arrests, Brown is classified as a Florida Serious Habitual Juvenile Offender.
The occupants of the vehicle were not charged with any crimes.
