Tallahassee Police Make Arrest Following Commercial Burglary

On Jan. 28, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to Dollar Tree, located at 1400 Village Square Boulevard, in reference to a commercial burglary. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the office had been ransacked and the safe broken into. Officers were able to gather information to determine a possible suspect and vehicle description.
Within hours of the initial call for service, the suspect’s vehicle was located at an area hotel. With assistance from the United States Marshals’ Task Force, the suspect was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Austin, Texas. A search warrant for the hotel room yielded several pieces of evidence including cash, clothing and electronics.
Investigators believe this swift arrest prevented the suspect from engaging in further criminal activity in the city. Arrested:
Gerard John Ricasolo Jr., 57, for burglary, possession of burglary tools, grand theft, criminal mischief over $1,000 and possession of cocaine.
