The Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to three structure fires within 24 hours over the weekend.
Following a residential fire that occurred within the 400 block of Gaile Avenue on the afternoon of April 3, TFD crews were dispatched later that evening to a second fire on Lakeshore Drive. Crews arrived in less than five minutes and were on scene for five hours. There were no reported injuries. Video of TFD's response can be seen via its Facebook page.
At 9:12 a.m. on April 4, TFD was dispatched to a residential fire at a single-story duplex in the 2000 block of Broad Street. Crews arrived on scene within five minutes and reported smoke from the attic. Everyone was out of the building upon arrival. Crews made entry and found a small fire in the attic that was quickly extinguished. The fire damaged both apartments, but the structure was not a total loss. There were no reported injuries. TFD was assisted on scene by Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS. The American Red Cross was called and is assisting the residents.
