TPD's Citizen Advisory Council Announces Town Hall Meeting
October 11, 2021
The Tallahassee Police Department's Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) is pleased to announce another town hall listening session on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Lincoln Neighborhood Center, located at 438 West Brevard Street.
"Part of our goal is to bridge the gap between the police and community," CAC Chairman Rudy Ferguson said. "We want to make sure when we speak as representatives of the community that we are aware of their wishes. The only way to truly make a difference is to listen and learn, and that's what we aim to do through these town hall meetings."
The Citizens Advisory Council was established in 2020 and is part of a holistic effort to expand transparency and strengthen community bonds between residents and officers. It is comprised of residents from all areas of Tallahassee. It serves as a conduit between the police department and the community to keep the channels of communication open.
CDC guidelines will be followed. Masks are encouraged, and social distancing will be in place.
